Please note, agenda items are subject to change at any time and are not reliable for planning attendance or participation. Days may be adjusted or added depending on Council workload, facilities availability, or other unforeseen circumstances.

November 2018 advance briefing book public comment deadline: Friday, October 5, 2018; 5:00 PM

Public comment materials received BY 5:00 pm (Pacific
Time), Friday, October 5, 2018, will be available to the to Council members and appropriate advisory bodies prior to the meeting.

November 2018 supplemental briefing book public comment deadline: Tuesday, October 23, 2018; 5:00 PM

Public comment materials received at the Council office after the Friday, October 5, 5:00 pm deadline, but by 5:00 (Pacific Time), Tuesday, October 23, 2018, will be included as supplemental materials available to the Council and advisory bodies on the first day of the meeting.

Public Comment Guidelines “After the October 23, 2018 5:00 PM” deadline

  • Comments received AFTER the 5 pm October 23, date
    specified above will not be photocopied and distributed by the Council staff.
  • For late comments after the 5 pm October 23, date specified above, individuals need to hand deliver their comments to the Council Secretariat (Grand A Room) at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar hotel, no later than 5 p.m. the day before the corresponding agenda item is scheduled on the Council’s agenda. These written submissions should include the submitter’s name, the Council agenda item number, and the Council meeting date.
  • Comments will be accepted in electronic form and hard
    copy.

The public should be aware that the Council does not have time
to thoroughly review extensive written comments submitted at
the meeting. The Council’s advisory bodies may not have a
chance to review such comment. The Council will not pay for
comments transmitted to the meeting hotel. Comments
submitted that are not in support of oral testimony will be
included in the briefing materials for the next Council meeting.

How to Submit PowerPoint Presentations or Videos

If your comments contain a PowerPoint presentation or video,
such PowerPoints and videos need to be turned in no later
than 5 pm the day before the corresponding agenda item is
scheduled on the Council’s agenda. PowerPoints and videos
must be sent to: Kris.Kleinschmidt@noaa.gov. Please
see the Protocol Policy on submitting electronic slide
presentation materials at the Council meetings for full direction,
expectations, and equipment available for use during
presentations.

Ad Hoc Ecosystem Work Group to Hold Webinar August 10, 2015

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) ad hoc Ecosystem Work Group (EWG) will hold a webinar on Monday August 10, 2015, which is open to the public. The webinar will begin at 1 p.m. and will continue until business for the day is completed, but is expected to end no later than 4 p.m. During this work session, the EWG will discuss finalizing its report for the Council’s September 2015 meeting in Sacramento, California. The Council has asked for an EWG report on two draft Fishery Ecosystem Plan (FEP) initiatives: an initiative for a coordinated review of the indicators used in the annual National Marine Fisheries Service’s California Current Ecosystem Status Report; and an initiative on the potential multi-fisheries and multi-species effects of short-term climate shift and long-term climate change. Other topics may include one or more of the Council’s scheduled Administrative Matters.

Ecosystem Workgroup to Hold Webinar

Monday, March 30th, 2015

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Ad Hoc Ecosystem Workgroup (EWG) will hold a webinar on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, which is open to the public. The webinar will begin at 1:30 p.m. and is expected to last about two hours. The primary purpose of the webinar is for the EWG to plan development of a new initiative pursuant to the Council’s Fishery Ecosystem Plan. The Council adopted this initiative, the Coordinated Ecosystem Indicator Review Initiative, at its March 2015 meeting. The Council requested the EWG, in concert with the Scientific and Statistical Committee’s Ecosystem-Based Fishery Management Subcommittee and National Marine Fishery Service’s Integrated Ecosystem Assessment Team, to evaluate ecosystem indicators presented in the Annual State of the California Current Ecosystem Report, identify potential new indicators, and coordinate review of indicators by the Council’s other advisory bodies. The EWG is expected to report back to the Council with a workload assessment and timeline later this year. Related matters stemming from the Council’s assignment also may be discussed. Public comment will be taken at the discretion of the EWG Chair.
